Live Export, Keep the Sheep: The Story Behind Our Shirt
Share
At Ravenswood Customs, we’re more than just a brand—we're a part of the community. And when a heartfelt idea comes along that resonates with the people around us, we know it’s worth bringing to life. That’s how our “Live Export, Keep the Sheep” shirt came to be.
The story started one evening over a cold beer (as so many great Aussie tales do). I was catching up with a mate whose family are farmers. His brother and his brother's family joined us, and before long, the conversation turned to the live export ban and the huge impact it’s set to have on farming communities. As the debate went on, his brother asked, “You know what would be great? A shirt that speaks up for us—something simple but loud and proud.”
He had a spark of inspiration—why not create a shirt that captures the spirit of solidarity? A design that speaks for farmers, rural workers, and communities alike. So, we put the idea into motion, and the "Live Export, Keep the Sheep" shirt was born. What started as a casual conversation turned into something bigger than we ever imagined. Farmers, truckies, and people from all walks of life connected with the sentiment, and the shirt became a symbol of support.
We’ve since updated the design with new colors and a bold front-and-back print to make it even better. While we’re not officially affiliated with the Keep the Sheep movement, we stand with their mission and admire the incredible work they’re doing to raise awareness about the live export ban’s far-reaching consequences.
This shirt isn’t just about the design—it’s about what it represents. It’s about standing up for regional communities, supporting hardworking farmers, and keeping conversations alive. It’s for anyone who loves a cold beer, a good yarn, and a chance to make a difference.
So, if you share that spirit, grab a shirt and wear it proudly. Together, let’s Keep the Sheep!
